Team snap up deep sea big hit

Deep-sea photographs by an Aberdeen University team have becomea huge worldwide hit.

The snaps were taken on the mid-Atlantic trip by Professor MontyPriede, director of Aberdeen University's Oceanlab.

And the gallery of creatures found on the trip were some of themost popular pictures on the National Geographic Society's dailynews website.

Over the course of five weeks the team of scientists mapped over1,500 square miles.

They explored the deep sea creatures living in the depths of theMid-Atlantic Ridge.

The team of 31 international researchers catalogued a host ofexotic worms, colourful corals, unusual sea cucumbers and weirdfish.
